Western Dressage Association of America/USEF Tests and Rules
Western Dressage Rules and Tests are based in Dressage fundamentals and showcase applications for the Working Western Horse. They were devised through a collaborative effort on the part of member feedback, the evaluation of respected horse people and equine organization and then revised and edited by a special division of their education committee. Western Dressage tests offered are by the Western Dressage Association of America and recognized by the United States Equestrian Federation.

The Western Dressage Training Pyramid
The Western Dressage Training Pyramid is a guideline for the natural training of a horse. The pyramid is the guideline to which we refer as we develop our horse’s body in order to advance his training through correct collection. The Western Dressage Pyramid is also our guideline for the physical conditioning of our horses through progressive development. Obedience is achieved with “increasing thoroughness” when using the pyramid. This structure serves only as a template for training the horse. As a horse progresses through its training, the levels below are refined as a means of improving the current level. If a previous level is not refined, mastery of the proceeding levels is impossible. Each level of the training pyramid is interconnected.
