Your Instructor and Clinic Guests
Stacy Sutton
Stacy Sutton has been successfully teaching and training both horses and riders for 29 years, as well as competing for many years in the disciplines of Dressage and Eventing, and in her childhood years rode and competed in Hunters. Stacy now focuses primarily on the art of Dressage, Western Dressage, and Working Equitation. She teaches the fundamentals and bio-mechanics of correct and effective riding. Having competed in open Dressage for many years and with her extensive professional Dressage horse training and teaching background, this makes Stacy the perfect educator for teaching you and your horse the skills needed to compete in Western Dressage. Stacy especially enjoys specializing in teaching, instructing, and offering clinics for the amateur and Jr. rider. She believes that the foundation training of horse and rider are so very important and often, it is not taught to its full potential. This can sometimes result in gaps or holes in a horse and riders education that may prevent or stunt progression in training and showing success. Stacy offers a unique, informative, and systematic teaching style that breaks down in detail the mechanics of both horse and rider. This foundational teaching style creates a solid basis for enhanced communication between horse and rider of all disciplines.
Stacy is a member of the United States Equestrian Federation, United States Dressage Federation, California Dressage Society, Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA), Western Dressage Association of America, California Affiliate (CAWDA), a graduate of the WDAA Train the Trainers program, a CAWDA Mentor, has earned her CAWDA Bronze and Silver Riding Medals, and her Bronze Musical Freestyle Medal. Stacy has also found her passion with the Gypsy Performance Horse, and is the founder and past President of the California Gypsy Horse Club and is the founder and current president of the 501 c(3) non-profit organization Gypsy Magic Equine Outreach.
